Superfood 'Salmon' for younger looking skin

Salmon is a great source of unsaturated fat that inhibits generation of reactive oxygen species.

As a good look has become one of the important elements to succeed in today’s society, ‘Anti-Aging’ has emerged as a point of interest for many, especially for women. As a result, the service and products for anti-aging such as cosmetics and wrinkle lifting procedures have evolved dramatically. However, there is another way to maintain the youth through regular diet and lifestyle.

Healthy lifestyle to inhibit reactive oxygen species (ROS) in your body

Although a human body naturally goes through the aging process as one gets older, ROS accelerates the natural aging process. The overgeneration of reactive oxygen species also called as free radicals damages surrounding membranes and chromosomes.
To inhibit ROS which directly affects the condition of skin, intake of hazardous substances like food additives, pesticide residues, and fast food must be minimized as much as possible. Alcohol absorbed into the body is released after the detoxification process in the liver, which produces ROS. Thus, heavy drinking must be avoided.

"Reactive Oxygen Species, in form of ions, free radicals, or peroxide, can alter or damage many targets within cells. These targets include, clockwise from the top: iron-sulfur clusters; sulfhydryl group; proteins; lipids; and DNA."

Salmon is a rich source of omega-3 and vitamin A&D

We can also slow down the aging process by eating superfood that inhibits ROS generation. Tomato, green tea, blueberry, apple, kiwi, nuts, spinach and salmon are typical superfood. Among these, salmon is chosen as top 10 healthy foods by New York Times. Salmon is inadvertently recognized as high calorie food due to its high fat content compared to white fish, but its rich unsaturated fat content also known as omega-3 lowers blood cholesterol level. Salmon is also a rich source of vitamin A, E, B6 and astaxanthin, which strengthen cell membranes, thus effective for anti-aging. Rich collagen in salmon skin is also effective for preventing freckles and wrinkles.
